Central New York Cardiology is a 16 physician Cardiology Specialty Practice located in Utica, NY. Currently seeking additional LPNs or MAs for an expanding practice. We also welcome and are willing to train new graduates.

Duties Include: Providing nursing care and associated clinical duties and responsibilities in a medical office setting under the direction of the supervising registered nurse, midlevel providers, and physicians.
Room Patients – Rooming patients in exam rooms to be seen by physician in a timely manner. Thoroughly interviews patients regarding their health history, surgeries, tests/procedures, and documents pertinent information about medications and present symptoms. Accurately measures and records vital signs and EKG monitoring as designated per physician/provider order and reports results for assessment. All information is documented appropriately into Electronic Health Record.
Patient Calls - Completes patient triage and determines priorities of care based on physical and safety needs. Takes patient’s phone calls regarding all aspects of their medical care including authorized medication refills, test results, physician orders and lab work, physician questions, health problems and education, etc. Communicates effectively with physicians about changes in patient’s status and symptomatology.
Other tasks include:
- Practices principles of infection control and safety using standard precautions; prepares and cleans exam rooms and equipment.
- Accurately completes necessary patient forms including medication prior authorizations, disability claims, life insurance, and FMLA forms.
- Provides educational materials to patients regarding treatment, health promotion and disease prevention as directed by the physician/provider.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in all interactions and communications with patients and their families, co-workers and visitors.
This position is primarily based in the Utica practice- with the opportunity to travel to satellite offices as needed and directed by the department supervisor (Utica, Rome, Oneida, Herkimer, Lowville)
Applicant must be a self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team. Position requires direct and indirect interaction with patients and physicians in a very busy environment. Ability to multi-task, document, and communicate effectively are critical.
Experience:
Two to three years of patient care experience preferred. New graduates welcome!
Cardiology practice experience is a plus.
