Objective of Position: Responsible for the design and drawings of products and product modification as necessary to provide manufacturing with complete drawing packages for production.

• Prepares layouts to determine dimensions and incorporate necessary design features on relatively standard product with some modifications.

• Details new drawings or modifies existing production drawings.

• Prepares Bills of Material.

• Calculates material requirements for trailers.

• Reviews sales and production orders for correct interpretation and feasibility.

• Coordinates with Purchasing for special materials.

• Reproduces prints and compiles print packages for individual orders.

• Writing of ECR/ECN/ECO as needed for current design projects

• Troubleshooting and problem solving of production issues as they relate to the Engineering Department.

• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years technical degree in drafting and design or Must be fully trained in computer-aided drafting and design with particular emphasis on
  Solid Works software.

• Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills in order to communicate well with all levels of management and employees.

• Must possess a positive attitude and work ethic.

The position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements. One must be able to see, hear, speak, sit, feel, and grasp. This position requires sitting for long periods of time and repetitive arm movements. Working conditions are those typical of an office environment. One does, however, need to work with a low level of surrounding noise.
