Job Description
Job Purpose: The Pastry Sous Chef is the eyes and ears in the department when the Pastry Chef is absent. This position requires overseeing the production and bake off teams. This position requires and indivdual who can provide department supervision and handle daily operations.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
· Arrive to work on time for scheduled shift
· Follow all company policies and procedures Food Safety standards
· Listen, be flexible, and provide positive feedback/encourage all team members(if a mistake is noticed approach the situation by re-clarifying the goal, sharing an observation, and asking for confirmation and perspective)
· Ask questions to Pastry Chef if not sure of something
· Assist pastry cooks with questions/organization when needed
· Follow production and bake off lists
· Adds production tasks to lists as needed
· Attention to details of department- production levels, inventory, quality
· Completes tasks in a timely manner
· Proper recipe execution and baking techniques
· Monitor product quality control
· Organization of product (Raw Goods)- putting away orders/maintaining daily organization
· Organization of product storage (FIFO) in and out of freezers and refrigeration
· Keeps work station clean and organized during entire working shift
· Communication with Pastry Chef on items that are low or do not meet company standards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
