Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker, Per Diem in our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) in our Tarrytown, NY office.

Base Hourly Rate Range is $30.00 per hour.

SUMMARY of DUTIES
Our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) are designed to better meet the behavioral health needs at earlier junctures in a child/youth's life to prevent the onset or progression of behavioral health conditions. These services aim to prevent the demand for more restrictive and higher-intensity services for children and youth. Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services are designed to restore, rehabilitate, and support a child's/youth's developmentally appropriate functioning as necessary for integrating the child/youth as an active and productive family member and community to achieve minimal ongoing professional intervention. Services assist with implementing interventions on a treatment plan to compensate for or eliminate functional deficits and interpersonal and/or behavioral health barriers associated with a child/youth's behavioral health needs. Activities are "hands-on" and task-oriented, intended to achieve the identified goals or objectives outlined in the child/youth's individualized treatment plan. These services must assist the child/youth develop and apply skills in natural settings. PSR is intended to foster and promote the development of needed skills identified in assessment or through the ongoing treatment of a licensed practitioner. Services are delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.

SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Engage the child and their family in various strategies (including counseling and functional supports) to work toward identified goals.
2. Engage in regular communication with the child's team to ensure continuity of care.
3. Document client progress and maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures.
4. Practice with a person-centered, trauma-informed philosophy in alignment with the values of MHA.
5. Due to the nature of the program, you must be able to work a flexible schedule.
6. Other designated or related duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
1. Knowledge of the signs of psychiatric crises and engagement skills/de-escalation techniques.
2. Highly organized and self-motivated.
3. Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. The PSR Worker must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, high school equivalency, or a State Education Commencement Credential with a minimum of two years of experience in children's mental health, addiction, foster care, and/or a related human services field; OR a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services; OR a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services.
2. Basic Computer knowledge is required.
3. Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
4. The PSR Worker must have a valid Driver's License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier.
5. The PSR Worker must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification.
6. The PSR Worker must be cleared NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search.
7. The Justice Center must clear the PSR Worker for the Protection of People with Special Needs Staff Exclusion List (SEL) and the New York State Medicaid Exclusion List.
8. The PSR Worker must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) for instances of child abuse and/or neglect.
9. The PSR Worker must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
