About the Job – Maintenance Technician:
You will be involved in all phases of rental property, grounds maintenance and remodeling that can be done without major renovation. You’ll be doing minor repairs such as plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair. You will do routine grounds maintenance, moving and assembling furniture and equipment, and preventative maintenance inspections.
Duties – Maintenance Technician:
- Performs reactive repair and preventative maintenance tasks
- Performs minor electrical and plumbing work, including occasional installations
- Prepares various wall surfaces and performs drywall work
- Paints and wallpapers as needed
- Repairs and maintains household appliances and utilities
- Moves and assembles furniture and equipment
- Performs grounds keeping and landscaping
- Electronically enters detailed notes and updates status of assigned work orders
- Purchases and maintains supplies needed for work orders
- Maintains appropriate inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring they are always clean and in good repair
- Utilizes company maintenance equipment and transportation to complete assigned tasks
What qualifications do I need to be a Maintenance Technician at New Hope?
- Must be comfortable having frequent contact with people who have disabilities
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in a similar role such as property, apartment maintenance, or trade experience
- Must have a valid Indiana Driver’s License and submit proof of insurance
- Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds, work at high levels and in confined spaces, stoop for long intervals, and work outdoors in weather extremes
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
