Hybrid Remote position. Must be able to commute to the Gardena, CA office as needed. Must be able to attend meetings with Japan in the late afternoon.

JOB SUMMARY
The position works closely with Chief Corporate Officer and Tokyo Headquarters. Responsibilities include timely preparation of financial statements, closings, cash flow management, corporate tax/reporting and budgeting. Supervises 2 accounting team members.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
· Understanding of US GAAP compliance, inventory, and project accounting.
· Exercise independent judgment and basic reasoning skills.
· Work independently with minimal supervision and guidance.
· Coordinate and complete multiple projects with oftentimes limited deadline dates.
· Follow-up skills, proactive, detail-oriented, and well organized.
· Ability to make suggestions and recommendations in identifying and developing more efficient processes, correcting errors and efficient accounting procedures.
· Possess strong automated accounting system and spreadsheet experience.
· Ability to effectively apply accepted accounting practices and analyze complex accounting issues.
· Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced Excel skills required.
· Currently in transition to SAP from QuickBooks Online. (SAP experience is a plus, but is not required.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Monthly, weekly and annual reconciliations. Maintain organized and systematic records of all accounts.
· Create and maintain financial and accounting system reports for multiple locations.
· Ensure tax reporting and year end closing is created and maintained accurately.
· Complete all necessary tax forms on a monthly/annual basis.
· Oversee and coordinate annual budget preparation and processing.
· Cash flow management.
· Special projects and creation of special reports, as requested.
· Work with and assist outside auditors by providing explanations of supporting documents and procedures and providing additional data and information when requested.
· Work closely with management and staff by fulfilling requests, resolving issues and/or providing requested information.
· Take necessary steps to keep management apprised of issues requiring immediate attention and/or resolution.
· Liaison to Headquarters office in Japan; communicate regularly with the office by providing required and/or requested reports and information.
· Supervise accounting team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and education experience with management experience.
5+ years total Finance and/or Accounting work experience with management experience.
WORK CONDITIONS
Sitting for a long period of time, typing, speaking, answering phones, walking, and bending required.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am to 6 pm PST. Some overtime required.
Travel: May be required to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
