Who we are:
AYS Tents & Events lays the foundation for the high end gatherings in the Hamptons and Suffolk County. We have a large inventory of event rentals, with beautiful tents, bars, tables, chairs, linens, and catering supplies. From Westhampton to Montauk, Riverhead to Orient, our rental products sit at the cross section of every type of event.
Position Summary:
Working with our Lead Installers, our Warehouse and Event Crew is part of a team responsible for delivery, set up, and breakdown of event rental equipment from our warehouse to the event location. Together, the crew is responsible for delivering our event product on time and in alignment with our customer expectations.
Essential Functions
- Ensure AYS inventory is treated with the highest degree of care, organization, and cleanliness at both the warehouse and event sites.
- Ensure inventory is loaded onto vehicles on time, safely and accurately.
- Use provided phones to accurate and timely record delivery and pickup details, and photograph tent installations. Report issues timely.
- Communicate proactively with colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in general warehouse cleanup, organization, and maintenance of inventory.
- Operate small yard equipment. Forklift training available.
- Able to work in situations that involve frequent changes & maintain a positive attitude.
Skills and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 70 lbs.
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Experience packing trucks safely and securely
Working Conditions
- Must stand for long periods of time. Most work will be both outdoors and indoors with general warehouse conditions, in which some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned. Exposure to above average temperatures is prevalent. This job requires constant interaction with co-workers and with the public. The typical tools (fork lift, palette jacks, hand trucks, dollies, carts and racks etc.) can be considered hazards. There is some exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard; hence a sense of smell is required. Stooping, crouching, bending, lifting, lowering, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, carting and carrying are intermittent tasks that routinely occur.
Qualifications for Drivers
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Experience driving box trucks preferred.
- A valid CDL and / or current DOT Physical Card is a plus.
