Job Description:
Seattle Pacific University is announcing a 1.0 FTE, tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor, beginning September 1, 2023. Area of research and expertise is open, but preference will be given to applicants with a focus on Industrial-Organizational Psychology or Forensic Psychology. Teaching and advising responsibilities will be in the undergraduate Department of Psychology.
Faculty duties include teaching, mentoring, and advising undergraduate psychology students. Teaching responsibilities will be based on the applicant's area of expertise but may include courses such as: Introduction to Statistics, Learning and Behavior, Cognitive Psychology, Psychological Disorders, Behavioral Neuroscience, or Health Psychology.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position possesses a Ph.D. in Psychology, teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and a clearly articulated plan of research with some record of scholarly productivity. The successful candidate will be able to address congruence within the context of a university committed to Christian faith and learning. Candidates from underrepresented backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Faculty duties include teaching, mentoring and advising undergraduate students, service to the university as well as establishing an active program of research. Teaching responsibilities will include core undergraduate psychology classes (e.g., General Psychology, Research Methods) as well as psychology courses that best algin with the applicant's area of expertise. This position includes mentoring of undergraduate and possibly master's students in research. The school maintains resources (e.g., Noldus Software) and space (research labs) to support faculty research as well as the possibility for collaboration across departments (e.g., IO Psychology).

Salary Range: $69,480 - $75,925 Compensation and Benefits:
Faculty salaries at Seattle Pacific University are based on nationally-normed, regionally-adjusted, and discipline-specific data from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Specific salary offers will be determined by the level of education and years of relevant experience.
