Job Description
Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative aligns with sales staff in the delivery of premium sales, lead generation, customer service and follow-through, customer intimacy, and is responsible for all activities in assigned accounts in support of the overall goals, objectives, mission and vision of the organization.
Essential functions:
- Enter customer orders and manage customer accounts making sure all customer information is up to date and accurate. Accurate data entry is critical.
- Generate leads and follow up on leads and quotes resulting from field activity.
- Develop and foster trusted customer relationships through meetings and various forms of communication including but not limited to telephone, e-mail, web based, and conference calls.
- Keep abreast of current product knowledge.
- Communicate new product opportunities, special developments, feedback gathered through field activity, and other information to appropriate staff in support of advancing sales and customer service.
- Participate in the formation of actionable, value added solutions or process improvement through suggestions and feedback to appropriate staff. Identify and communicate ideas that support best practices in sales and customer service.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships along the manufacturing and distribution continuum and among other key functional units of the organization.
- Act as primary contact and business partner for all assigned accounts.
- Identify customer issues, goals for resolution, business value, and return on investment for customer service improvement initiatives.
- Create and/or prepare various reports including status, activity, closings, follow up, and any others as requested by management or the customer.
- Participate in project management activities on various levels as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position requirements: **
- High School Diploma / GED
- Two (2) years experience in the manufacturing, packaging or related industry plus 2 years inside or outside sales experience including experience in qualifying and managing customer leads.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Proven team player and a diligent customer advocate.
- Ability to successfully work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- Highly developed and polished interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
- Strong organization, follow-up and time management skills along with the ability to effectively multi-task.
- High technical proficiency including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to PowerPoint. CRM experience is highly beneficial.
- A high level of trustworthiness and the ability to achieve integrity on all levels.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Professional image and the ability to effectively represent the company both externally and internally.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
Food Safety Requirements:
- Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all maintenance work in the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
- Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and complete documentation correctly.
- Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after any job completion.
- Report incidents, and product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to your direct reports and submit a safety/food safety incident report.
