Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island has been serving the surrounding communities since 1945. We began in Huntington with 3 physicians, the first board certified physicians in Suffolk County. Today we have over 75 physicians in 21 specialties who continue the Group’s tradition of quality. In 1995, the Group became part of the Mount Sinai Health System. We have access to Mount Sinai’s vast referral network and latest treatment options. In the Summer of 2018 we moved from our original Huntington location into a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility at 5 Cuba Hill Road in Greenlawn. Our new facility offers a wide range of health care providers in twenty one different specialties, on-site imaging, and lab services, all under one roof. We are proud to offer our patients the newest imaging technology including 3-D mammography, PETCT and a wide bore MRI. We also have offices in Nesconset.
We are currently seeking a full time MRI Technologist for our Greenlawn, NY location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MRI Technician operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to capture images to aid in patient diagnoses.
1. Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
2. Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
3. Evaluates MRI films for quality to determine the need for additional sequences to demonstrate the required anatomy/pathology desired. Adheres to established infection control policies and procedures.
4. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
5. Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; processing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
6. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records (including the completion and verification of exams.
7. Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance require
Requirements: Completion of an accredited Radiology Program
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience performing CAT Scan and magnetic imaging procedures.
Licenses: New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology, and/or A.R.R.T. CT and MRI registry.
Compensation:
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for the role is $35,196.39 - $93,857.04. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
