Job Description
The Kearney Realty & Development Group, Inc. (Kearney Group) is a diversified real estate development, general contracting, and property management firm located in Somers, New York. Kearney Group’s portfolio includes office, retail, market-rate, affordable, and mixed-income developments. To date, Kearney Group has successfully developed commercial and residential projects valued at over $250 million and manages over 1,200 apartments throughout New York State.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Track outgoing payments
- Monitor company expenditures
- Maintain accurate records
- Review vendor and service provider agreements
- Track and pay sales and use tax
- Pay vendors and service providers
- Reconcile bank statements and payment records
- Ensure payment credits are applied correctly
- Correspond with vendors regarding billing and payments
- Analyze accounts
- Assist with audits
Required skills and expertise:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong ability to be detail oriented and work with a goal of precision
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint at a minimum
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and accepted accounting principles
- Experience with accounting management software or Yardi preferred
- Experience in Real Estate Development, Real Estate Management, and/or Construction preferred
