City Experiences is seeking a Data Manager for our Marketing operation in New York, NY.

About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a passionate Data Manager (DM) to lead the development of various data structures and own data solutions for the Hornblower Group (HBG). The DM will execute data management strategy across the enterprise while being responsible for the establishment and tracking of metrics on data quality. This role works across all aspects of data management, with an immediate focus on the internal stakeholders across each business unit. Contributing as a part of an expanded business intelligence effort to turn data into information and insight. This position is an opportunity to make significant contributions by providing information technology solutions that enables new capabilities that drive innovation, enable global growth, and streamline operations. The DM will support HBG’s enterprise data management and data optimization activities. Working primarily across all data capturing elements, the DM will be responsible for integrity, stability, and completeness of all datasets in supporting business continuity. You will have an impact on delivering data through migrating proprietary first party data out of our Anchor booking engine for HBG brands. Teaming-up with our in-house software development team Encore®, the DM will be responsible for data replication and into our DWH powered by AWS, data privacy, and data compliance fulfillment. The DM will lead a small team of Data Engineers and partner with the broader Business Analytics & Insights crew.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our engineering team to build, augment, and maintain a centralized customer database. Collect, define, and document data from a variety of sources that will enable development of rich customer insights and analysis.
- Responsible for loading data from a wide variety of sources into our Data Warehouse.
- Develop technical strategies at the enterprise level and design architecture according to corporate and solution-based architecture practices
- Identify data infrastructure issues and drive to resolution.
- Drive discussions on data definition, taxonomy, and classification.
- Define and implement data quality requirements and present metrics documenting adherence and improvements to data quality rules.
- Recommend appropriate courses of action to developers, technicians, and management on technical and infrastructural issues in production when required
- Define key risks for data management and ensure compliance with related policies, roles and responsibilities and standards.
- Maintain and promote key data governance deliverables/assets, including data policies, data standards and data management roles and decision frameworks
- Maintain data quality issue log to provide visibility to data quality opportunities, impact, root causes and efforts required to remediate the data
- Assess and recommend changes to business and technical processes that impact data quality and develops operational procedures for managing data quality issues when they arise
- Summarize, visualize, communicate, and document analytic concepts, processes, and results for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate testing needs across sites in support of batch release, stability, process validation, or single batch verification testing.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in data management, data warehousing and supporting big data analytics projects, including using AWS technologies or other big data technologies.
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
- Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Knowledge of data related US and international regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Experience with process design and implementation
- Strong business acumen with an affinity for data exploration, analysis, and working with databases and large amounts of data
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills; employs systems thinking to solve complex problems
- Experience documenting data requirements and data rules (standardization, cleansing, validation)
- Track record of taking ownership of project deliverables and day-to-day work product
- Experience with big data and cloud platforms to deploy large-scale data science solutions
- Knowledge in CRM or lifecycle marketing functions with strong analytical grasp of ecommerce and lifecycle channel measurement KPIs
- Ability to navigate complex business organizations and manage multiple cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team oriented, collaborative, and cooperative with a strong work ethic
