Are you a Radiation Therapist looking to enhance your skillset in a Proton Therapy Center? Well, Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC has the perfect opportunity for you!
The Proton Therapy Radiation Therapist prepares and applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist and under the general supervision of the Manager and Lead Therapist. Operates all Radiation Oncology related equipment, i.e. CT simulator, linear accelerator, QA dosimeters, diode system, and various computer equipment. They will assist in localizing tumors, participates in treatment planning, and delivers high doses of ionizing radiation prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. The Radiation Therapist is the primary liaison between patients and other members of the radiation oncology team. They also provide a link to other healthcare providers such as social workers and dietitians.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology program. BS preferred but not required.
- Current MD licensure as Medical Radiation Technologist.
- One to three years clinical experience in all modalities as a radiation therapist, through an accredited radiation program.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current CPR Certification required.
