Nurse Resident, Hospitals – Up to $17K Tuition Forgiveness
United Health Services, the Southern Tier’s largest healthcare organization in Upstate New York, is hiring graduate nurses for its Nurse Residency program. Positions are available at Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, NY, and Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Relocation assistance of $5,000 is available for candidates who live 50+ miles from the Binghamton area.
Earn $38.40/hour and start your career in one of these areas: medical/surgical, critical care, emergency department, telemetry, operating room, surgical step down, or behavioral health. Placement and shift will be discussed during the interview process.
*This program is offered with NO contractual obligation.* Eligible candidates can receive $11,000 (ASN) or $17,000 (BSN) in tuition forgiveness.
Nurse Residents at United Health Services enter into a comprehensive 12-month orientation program that will help you transition from nursing school to clinical practice in a safe learning environment.
Nurse Residency Program Details
- Travel through the Nurse Residency program and your first year of work with the same cohort of new graduate nurses—laugh, learn, and (sometimes) cry together through shared experiences
- Start with on-unit shadowing and move to supervised clinical care as you gain confidence
- Work with your preceptor and teammates to complete 30 “skills encounters” with hands-on training during your first six months in the program
- Take courses on cardiac and respiratory care, pain management, diabetes, sepsis and skin, and GI/GU
- Spend the last six months in the program developing as a nurse leader and take workshops on topics like clinical coaching, evidence-based practice, communication, and de-escalation
