Salary range: $23.56 - $31.88/hour, depending on experience
Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,000.
Early-career candidates may qualify for up to $12,500 in tuition forgiveness._
United Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Ambulatory Services Admin. The Ambulatory Care Department is located within the United Health Services Hospital Physician Practice locations. This position is a float position to cover for areas with staffing shortages. Hours will vary depending on the location. Applicants need to be flexible and enjoy change and new experiences. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.
Licensed Practical Nurse Overview
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.
Licensed Practical Nurse: Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Performs clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.
- Promotes and facilitates the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
- Under the direction of a provider or RN, educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medication according to UHS Hospitals policy.
- Maintains CIA Waived Lab standard and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Included tri annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and Lab credentialing.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities, reviews PI data and assists in development of Performance Improvement plans.
- Participates in educational opportunities.

Position Qualifications
Minimum:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current NY State LPN license
- Documentation of CPR certification within 1 week of start of employment.
Preferred:
- At least 1 year experience in healthcare setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the LPN curriculum.
- Previous experience in a walk in/primary care setting.
