POSITION OVERVIEW
The Pack Technician performs a variety of duties in concurrent material movement, including operating the palletizer; physically moving pallets and product around the warehouse space; providing product to our customers in a timely manner; properly maintaining all documentation and equipment; and assisting our Quality Department as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and complete the Packaging Tech Daily Task List
- Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, reach trucks, walkie rider, forklifts, hoists and other material handling equipment to receive, store and transport material and deliver product
- Use of material handling power equipment to bring full finished good trays and pallets out of the palletizer to the finished goods warehouse and organize empty finished goods trays and pallets to enable the palletizer
- Use the pallet jack to bring the full pallet finished trays out of the palletizer; sample, wrap, and label pallet; move the finished pallet to the racking area, keeping within FIFO standards; and bringing back empty tray pallets to feed the palletizer
- Monitor power equipment and conducts daily inspections
- Follow maintenance and inspection check list looking for any apparent need for equipment repair before operation
- Operate and monitor the palletizer and give direct feedback to the Vision Inspection Lead and Maintenance Department in the case of technical problems
- Place properly stored finished goods product in the proper FIFO storage location and transport finished goods to FIFO location
- Ensure proper and safe storage of material, and maintain accurate inventory of finished goods
- Perform daily walk of palletizer area, making sure everything is in its proper place, and supplies are filled and is clean/free of food and trash
- Notify Shift Lead/Logistics Supervisor of any labels that don’t print
- Print the incorrect pallet number or print with a letter sequence as soon as it comes out of the palletizer
- Scan/return every empty tray pallet with the handheld scanner prior to loading the pallet into the line
- Remove any broken pallets from the line and place in designated broken pallet area
- Rebuild/build new pallets when needed
- Use RFID System to create, record and ship product
- Stage and ship product to our customer following FIFO standards
- Maintain all paperwork in regards to shipments
- Maintain accurate inventory of finished goods and supplies and materials needed to run efficiently
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards. Collect samples from finished goods and distribute to our Quality department
- Perform general housekeeping duties in your assigned area as needed and directed by the Customer Logistics Supervisor. Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Follow company policies, procedures and comply with standard safety rules and regulations
- Perform as a team-player and proactively supporting the continuous improvement process by attending workshops, developing and adjusting standard work instructions, and taking part in problem solving meetings and helping to find root causes
- Support in developing and improving their own work environment to reach the target of 80% OEE

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION
- Team player, dedicated to overall company performance and the ability to get along with others
- Self-motivated with enthusiasm and drive; able to work independently as needed
- Reliable attendance on-site required
- Ability to work various shifts to support a 24/7 operation
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years or older
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and bend and twist at the waist
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Ability to communicate and listen
- Occasionally required to sit or crawl
- Close vision depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required
- Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
- Must have the ability to lift and/or move objects ranging between 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects with the use of a pallet jack that weigh more than 1000 lbs.
- Ability to operate power equipment such as sit-down forklift, lift truck, reach truck, and manual pallet jack

Exposure to manufacturing environment, including moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noise levels, etc.
