Requirements:
- Must be able to travel throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota
- 2-year AAS degree in Diesel Technology
- 5+ years of training and experience in working on diesel engines
- Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites
- Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A
- Acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain heavy trucks and heavy construction equipment out in the field. Candidates interested in year-round work will be able to work out of our shop in Alexandria, MN during the non-construction season. Travel will be required during the construction season.
- Analyzes operation of systems and components of heavy trucks and heavy construction equipment to determine performance using engineering specifications and test equipment.
- Inspects mechanical and electrical systems, diagnoses and repairs systems.
- Disassembles systems, examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts settings and reassembles according to specifications.
- Operates electronic testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, welding and cutting equipment and cranes and hoists.
- Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
- Performs other tasks as needed.
- Complies with Company Safety Program.
