• Operate Construction Equipment such as tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purpose of construction, demolition, or excavation.

• May be responsible for routine greasing, maintenance, or repairs.

• Able to work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

• Dig Pits, Trenches or Holes as Directed; Restore and/or Landscapes Disturbed Areas

• General fluency with tools used in various trades.

• Knowledge of the general construction industry and the sub trades.

• Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and proper safety precautions involved in operating heavy equipment.

• Ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people, or things.

• Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information.

• Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in standard English and understand mechanical and engineering terminology.

Competencies and Abilities:

• Ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape.

• Ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using heavy equipment.

• Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.

• Ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.

• Ability to perform minor maintenance on heavy equipment.

• Ability to communicate with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, subcontractors, fellow associates, and all project site visitors.

• Ability to perform tasks and follow directions assigned by the Field Supervisor and Project Manager accurately and within the specified timeframe.

• Ability to be always aware of surrounding environment and conditions.

• Ability to productively manage time and materials to maximize efficiency and quality
