Ridout Barrett & Co., P.C., one of San Antonio's Top Workplaces for six years in a row, is looking for qualified tax manager candidates.
Duties Include:
- Develop a strong knowledge of the firm’s structure, policies, procedures, client base and external business relationships
- Serve as an experienced and seasoned member of the tax department
- Perform and guide other staff members in preparing tax returns
- Supervise and mentor the tax department staff
- Demonstrate strong professional knowledge and the ability to deliver a broad range of services in the areas of tax and general accounting
- Ability to effectively manage tax projects from beginning to end
- Ability to prepare and review all types of federal and state income tax returns
- Prepare financial statements
- Assist clients with tax and accounting issues
- Serve as a consultant for the firm’s clients providing needed advisory services
- Analyze individual client financial information and make recommendations on accounting and tax matters as needed.
- Communicate with federal and state agencies concerning client matters
- Manage workflow and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate an awareness of professional standards and the ability to identify areas for improvement in clients’ systems and procedures
- Stay up to date on current tax code and read appropriate professional and technical journals to maintain professional expertise.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree
- Seven to ten years recent public accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant
- Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task
- Ability to maintain strict confidence of sensitive information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and effectively handle conflicting demands
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff
- Effective project management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and quality
- Demonstrate a solid work ethic
- Know the AICPA Code of Ethics and follow in daily practice
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $77,728.00 - $131,907.00 per year
