Being former employees of a once local manufacturer of drilled end wound closure surgical needles, the owners felt the market had a need for US-made goods. With that thought Design Concepts and Enterprises was created. Today we believe we are the largest manufacturer of drilled end suture attaching equipment. We develop, produce, and manufacture medical devices for the Surgical, Orthopedic, and Cardiac markets.

Job Description
Toolmaker II
1.0 Position Overview
1.1 Manufacture products/parts per DCE and/or Customer requirements using work instructions, drawings, and following the production schedule. Toolmaker II reports to Toolmaker III.
2.0 Key Responsibilities
2.1 Toolmaker II is required to be aware and comply with all procedures and work instructions that pertain to this position. The essential functions of this occupation are:
A. Ability to complete any or all functions of a Toolmaker I.
B. Receive incoming products in the absence of the Director of Purchasing/Logistics/Inventory following SOP-0014.
C. Using advanced drawing knowledge, complete any grinding processes provided by the Toolmaker III or Director of Manufacturing.
D. Heat treats products/parts using the proper work instructions.
E. Perform Rockwell testing on any products needed.
F. Complete machine maintenance as required and fill out the corresponding logs.
G. Perform all duties in a safe manner while complying with the safety rules and regulations.
H. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
3.0 Background Requirements
3.1 High school diploma (or equivalent).
3.2 1 year experience in Manufacturing atmosphere preferred.
4.0 DCE Training Requirements
4.1 Toolmaker II must be trained and certified in all of the following items before being allowed to successfully complete products/parts unaccompanied by Trainer/Supervisor:
A. Companywide Mandated Training Requirements
B. All Toolmaker I Training Requirements
C. Advance Drawing Knowledge
D. Machine Maintenance & Logs
E. Receiving Incoming Products
F. Heat Treat
G. Rockwell Testing
H. Importance of "Sistering" Parts
I. Bridgeport Mill'
